Do We Belong To A Particular Tribe?

Do we know which tribe you and I belong to? Are there still tribes existing in the world? If so, which society is the unique one? When was the last time you and I thought seriously about this especial tribe?

As per English Oxford dictionary, the definition of tribe is “a social division in a traditional society consisting of families or communities linked by social, economic, religious, or blood ties, with a common culture and dialect, typically having a recognized leader.”

According to Survival International organization, there are an estimated one hundred and fifty million tribal individuals worldwide, constituting forty percent of indigenous individuals. Tribal people are given special status in international law. However, in the 21st century due to nation’s various political reasons, the term “tribe” or “tribal society” has been replaced with “ethnic group,” or “nation.” Surprisingly, in recent years the social media marketing world, has once again using this term “tribe” to target certain demographic people for business purposes, and companies are spending billions of dollars annually in this marketing.

No matter what term we use, but the real meaning is not going to change. Yes, many tribes exist in the world, but as I know that there is one tribe, which is unique. This particular tribe is known to the world as the “believers of Jesus Christ – the Son of God, the Lion of the tribe of Judah (Rev.5:5 NKJV).” This tribe is different because they believe “when the Son of Man will appear in heaven, all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory (Mat. 24:30 NKJV).” This ethnic group trusts “when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you and I who followed Him will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel (Mt.19:28 NKJV).”

Yes, by His grace He gave us the privilege to be members of this special ethnic group called “Christians.” Had it not for the great spiritual leader’s hard work and efforts, you and I would still be members of other tribes. Therefore, we need to admire those great leaders who provided us the “Good News,” that is to trust in the “Lion of the tribe of Judah.” Please share your thoughts and comments, if you have any. Appreciated.
